Sirdal

Sirdal

Sirdal makes the north-western part of Vest-Agder county, a place for activities all year around with a skisenter, climbing park, hiking trails and untouched nature.

The mountain of Tjørhom has a number of activities to offer. Spend the winter skiing and run down the many slopes of Ålsheia and Tjørhom, or explore the area in the summer, where you can go fishing, swim, canoeing or have fun in the waterpark. Go for a run at Mountain Cart, a familyactivity where you are being pulled in a tricycle to the top of the mountain and run down the many trails of Tjørhomfjellet.

Sirdal is a short roadtrip from popular hikingdestinations such as Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), Kjerag and Flørli. If you’re interested in a longer road trip, make sure you explore Suleskarvegen, one the most beautiful roads of Southern-Norway. It takes you by fjords, mountains and cosy villages.

On the road from Tjørhom to Tonstad, you’ll pass Dorgefoss, a beautifull waterfall where an old legend says that death row inmates could save their lives by jumping over the waterfall at a certain place. If they succeeded, their lives would be spared.

If you travel from Sirdal from Rogaland, you’ll have the opportunity to experience Gloppedalsura, the largest pile of rock in Northern Europe.
